The Challenge
In February 2007, I along with 100 other individuals from all walks of life and from all regions of the world will be leaving our usual 9-5 routine behind to complete a grueling 2,500km motorbike ride across southern India ITINERARY DETAILS
Enduro India is by no means Paris-Dakar but it is certainly not a 'quick blast out' on a Sunday morning. It is a demanding ride through some of the most challenging 'roads' south India has to offer.
The ride is a test of confidence, spirit and determination and at times will be both physically and mentally draining. It is more a test of endurance than skill on a bike as I will be riding from dawn to dusk.
The challenge is organized by Enduro India who over the past 3 years have raised over £500,000 for charity through this event.
The Bike
It has to be said that what makes this challenge so unique and difficult is the machine I will be riding. You may have seen Ewan McGregor’s and Charlie Bormans ‘Long Way Round’ adventure and therefore thought that I will be cruising around on a BMW for two weeks..
Instead, I will be putting my faith in this little beauty below. She is a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Although we have not yet met (we meet in February), I have decided to call her Gisele* and she will be responsible for getting me safely from A-B.
